Las Vegas Sands Acknowledged for Charitable Giving in Las Vegas

Las Vegas Sands was recently mentioned in a Chronicle of Philanthropy article highlighting post-recession charitable giving throughout Las Vegas. The article notes our donations to UNLV and Clean the World, both announced with the launch of our corporate citizenship program Sands Cares, and also mentions our recent disaster relief hygiene kit build where we hosted over 2,500 local volunteers. Charity at the Las Vegas Sands, which has 7,000 hotel rooms in the city, has focused on the University of Nevada at Las Vegas’s professional-development center for the hospitality industry, including $7-million given in the last five years. Sands also has made a $1-million commitment to Clean the World, a charity that packages hygiene kits from the company’s unused soap and shampoo. On a late September Saturday, volunteers from the casino company put together 100,000 of the kits, which will be distributed to the homeless and to disaster victims by the Red Cross.
