As the leading gaming company in the world, Las Vegas Sands takes an active role in responsible gaming by conducting trainings across its properties for Team Members. Over the past few years, the company has built and developed its industry-leading program to establish responsible gaming ambassadors available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Marina Bay Sands has more than 500 ambassadors who work on the gaming floor, spanning from security service officers to cage supervisors, and offer timely help to patrons who may be showing signs of distress. During Responsible Gambling Awareness Week (RGAW) in April at Marina Bay Sands, ambassadors helped promote the importance of gambling responsibly.
Since 2014, Las Vegas Sands and its properties actively collaborate with several partners to help lead these efforts including Dr. Bo Bernhard, executive director of the International Gaming Institute at University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), and the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). For the special week, Marina Bay Sands organized and hosted various activities on property. RGAW also reminds all Team Members that responsible gambling is everyone’s responsibility and something to practice every day of the year.
Last year, Marina Bay Sands reached an important milestone when their responsible gambling efforts were accredited by the Responsible Gambling Council of Ontario’s RG Check, the world’s most rigorous accreditation program. The RG Check accreditation process took over 12 months to achieve. With this accreditation, Marina Bay Sands has been recognized as an industry leader in the provision of responsible gambling services, positioning us among the industry’s best.
