Sands China Ltd. Welcomes University Students for Sustainability Tour

More than twenty students from local Macao universities attended an exclusive two-part tour hosted by Sands China Ltd. (SCL). As leaders for sustainability in Macao, the company works together with Green Future Macau, a local sustainability association for university students, to introduce SCL’s achievements in sustainability and provide students with the opportunity to learn more about the process. The association is devoted to promoting the concept of sustainability and organizing environmental protection training and education.

Students from University of Macau, Institute for Tourism Studies, University of Saint Joseph, Macau University of Science and Technology, and Macau Polytechnic Institute were introduced to Sands ECO360, Las Vegas Sands’ global sustainability program, and its strategy and what SCL does based on the four pillars: green buildings, environmentally responsible operations, green meetings and events, and stakeholder engagement.

During the tour, students were able to visit the chiller plant operation, the recycling dock, the food waste digester, the housekeeping corridor decorated with recyclable items, and a guest suite.
