To ring in the Lunar New Year, we had an array of festivities across property here at Marina Bay Sands.
We started off with a property-wide lion and dragon dance at the hotel with a freestyle high pole lion dance performance and a traditional ‘dotting the eyes of the lion/dragon ceremony’ by Marina Bay Sands executives.
Over at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, guests of all the boutiques and restaurants were able to enjoy the spectacular lion dances and weekly Chinese Orchestra performances as part of on-property entertainment.
For Sands Rewards Lifestyle, we had a Fortune Shake & Win game , a free mobile app game where participants can stand the chance to win dining and gift vouchers, and even a 24K pure gold plate.
One tradition not to be missed during the Lunar New Year is ‘Lo Hei,’ where groups gather together to toss ‘yu sheng.’ Also known as the ‘Prosperity Toss’, this tradition signifies luck and ushers in prosperity for the New Year as ‘yu sheng’ commonly represents abundance and vigor. Our Team Members from various departments had the chance to come together and participate in these Lo Hei ceremonies.
