Sands - 2022 Environmental Social And Governance Report

1 “Standard” includes: plastic, aluminum, cardboard, paper, glass and metal. 2 “Other” includes: recovered assets, batteries, e-waste, donations, lightbulbs, soap, shampoo, amenities and horticultural waste. 3 Food waste prevention is defined as food waste our properties did not generate because of prevention initiatives that were conducted. Food waste rescue includes food donated to food pantries and other nonprofit organizations. Food waste diversion includes food waste diverted from landfill via digestion, animal consumption or composting. 4 Total food waste is calculated by multiplying an estimated percentage of food waste in the waste stream by total operational waste. Graphic excludes 328 metric tons of food waste prevented. Our rate of food waste prevention, rescue and diversion, however, continued on an upward trajectory. Since 2018, we have increased food waste recovery by 12 percentage points, thanks to processes and programs in our kitchens and restaurants and continued scaling of artificial intelligence technology and food waste digesters. 2025 Target: 5% increase in operational diversion rate from 2019 Performance % from baseline: 1% 2025 Target: 25% of food waste is prevented, rescued or diverted3 Performance % diversion: 20% 19% 2022 18% 2021 18% 2020 2022 20% 2021 16% 2020 13% 18% 2019 (Baseline) 9% 2019 15% 2018 8% 2018 Target Target Discarded Food Waste4 (metric tons) Singapore Marina Bay Sands 3,907 Macao The Venetian Macao 1,830 The Londoner 1,537 The Parisian Macao 681 The Plaza Macao 466 Sands Macao 250 Total Discarded 8,669 APPENDIX GOVERNANCE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT OUR PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION OUR STRATEGY 61 CLOSING
