Nevada Reading Week

Nevada Reading Week

Las Vegas Sands is proud to participate in Nevada Reading Week from February 28 through March 4 as part of our global corporate citizenship program, Sands Cares. Throughout the week, our Team Members from The Venetian and The Palazzo have visited Rex Bell and Matt Kelly Elementary schools to read to students and to provide new books that were donated through our book drive that took place throughout the month of February. Nevada Reading Week began in 1987, when the Nevada Department of Education began a statewide initiative for teachers and librarians to celebrate reading through shared thematic activities. The week-long celebration also coincides with National Read Across America Day on March 4, which is also Dr. Suess’s birthday. The day is designed to pay homage to the beloved children’s book author and get students excited about reading. Thank you to all of our Team Members that participated by donating books and reading to children in the Las Vegas area.
