The Parisian Macao Begins Local Community Outreach Initiatives

With The Parisian Macao now open, the Integrated Resort has begun taking part in Sands China Ltd. community outreach initiatives, celebrating its recent opening by giving back to the local community.

On October 18, 15 Sands China Care Ambassadors led 50 overseas delegates from the Macau Association of the Parents of the Mentally Handicapped on a tour of The Parisian Macao. The delegates were in town participating in the 25th anniversary of the organization’s conference. The tour included a visit to The Parisian’s half-scale recreation of the world-famous Eiffel Tower, as a well as a visit to sister property, The Venetian Macao. In addition, over 60 association members and their families were treated to a complimentary viewing of the resident show Thriller Live at The Parisian Theatre.

The Parisian’s October community outreach initiatives also included a giveaway of 280 tickets to the Eiffel Tower, distributed to Macau Special Olympics, Caritas Macau and the Fuhong Society of Macau. The outings are a way for Sands China to give back to local community groups, offering them opportunities to enjoy the success of the company’s development by experiencing new attractions like the city’s latest landmark at The Parisian. The Eiffel Tower visits offered a unique experience and opportunity for local community group members and their families to enjoy a new vista of the Cotai Strip skyline.

Sands China’s long-standing practice of celebrating the opening of new properties with the community goes back to the 2007 opening of The Venetian Macao, which included property tours for local elderly and mentally handicapped children. During the opening of Sands Cotai Central in 2012, Sands China invited Professor Sun Jiabin, the sculptor of the God of Fortune at the property’s Paradise Gardens, to meet local Macao sculptors and art students from the Macao Polytechnic Institute. For the grand opening of Sheraton Macao Hotel, Cotai Central in September 2012, members of the Fuhong Society of Macau were invited to complete a traditional Maori Kowhaiwhai painting with Dr. Miriam Adelson, which was put prominently on display at Shoppes at Cotai Central.
