Over August 1-3, the spirit of giving was celebrated once again at Sands for Singapore Festival when generous corporates and individuals rallied with Marina Bay Sands to raise of over S$3.8 million to benefit more than 80 charities and 300,000 Singaporeans!
The theme for the weekend was “Inspire the Future” where we encouraged others to join us in giving back to the community.
Big-hearted corporates and the public dined for a good cause at several charity dinners – the APSN Gala Dinner, the BT Dream Ball and the first-ever Celebrity Chef Dine Around.
We also spurred more than 590 Team Members to volunteer and host children and youth on property, through customized tours and educational workshops in 11 staff-led activities.
Benevolent individuals bid generously in the auctions of Celebrities Give Back to Singapore and The Art of Shopping.
Celebrities Give Back to Singapore
A number of these celebrities who graced Marina Bay Sands over the last year are extra special to us. They were inspired by the integrated resort to generously donate an item each for this year’s Sands for Singapore Festival public auction, ‘Celebrities Give Back to Singapore’, with proceeds going to ChildAid 2014. The impressive list of celebrities that donated various items for the auction included David and Victoria Beckham, Manny Pacquiao, Eva Longoria and Jackie Chan.
Celebrities who are passionate about philanthropy play a vital part in our society. They remind us to make a positive difference in the world, no matter how big or small.
The Art of Shopping
It’s not just high profile celebrities that are doing good this Sands for Singapore Festival. Several retailers at The Shoppes also did their part for charity this year. International and local brands donated close to 40 items that were transformed into unique pieces of art by local artists. Proceeds went to Art Outreach.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Sands for Singapore Festival!
