Hollywood Star Visits Marina Bay Sands at Sands for Singapore Event

Leading Hollywood star Adrian Grenier and advertising guru Gorden Bowen mingled with a different type of entourage on Thursday as they gave an exclusive career talk to local students in a dialogue hosted by Marina Bay Sands. The star, best known for his lead role as Vincent Chase in the hit HBO series Entourage, spoke alongside Gordon Bowen, Global CEO and co-founder of mcgarrybowen, as part of ArtScience On Screen: In Conversation With series which features prominent speakers from the film and art industries.

“It is an honor to join Gordon and mcgarrybowen in Singapore to share both my creative journey in Hollywood and also career advice with the rising young stars of Asia,” Grenier said.

Bowen, an acclaimed advertising expert, was once dubbed Time magazine’s creator of “emotional blockbusters,” with a portfolio that includes the legendary “Membership Has Its Privileges” campaign for American Express and also the most recent “Chase Freedom” campaign that was the most successful credit card launch in history.

“Having the opportunity to spend time with so many aspiring young people here in Singapore alongside Adrian is a real honor. It is as much an inspiration for us as it is for them.”

The event is one of many ways that Marina Bay Sands gives back to the local community through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, Sands for Singapore. The program allows for unique opportunities where youth are able to gain insights into the worlds of film, art, and culture through the eyes of experts and celebrities. Students from Lasalle Puttnam School of Film and Animation and Hacque Centre of Acting & Creativity were invited to attend the talk and ask Grenier and Bowen questions about their careers and their personal journeys to success.

“It was extremely inspiring to hear about the personal experiences of Adrian and Gordon and how they got to where they are today,” Brandon Chua, a student at LaSalle Puttnam School of Film and Animation, said. “Their words have left an impression on me and I look forward to joining the film and animation industry once I graduate. Thank you Sands for Singapore for this opportunity.”

ArtScience On Screen made its debut in November 2015, and has since hosted the In Conversation With series featuring renowned talent such as actors Dev Patel, Michelle Yeoh, Choi Siwon, director Antoine Fuqua and local director Eric Khoo.
