Las Vegas Sands is launching its fourth annual “I Will If You Will” (IWIYW) global challenge from March 13-19 through its global sustainability program, Sands ECO360°. The annual event is designed to encourage Team Members from all of LVS’ properties around the world to take action to reduce their impact on climate change. The event is organized by the World Wildlife Fund and is held in conjunction with Earth Hour, which is scheduled to take place on March 19.
“Earth Hour has become our company tradition and it provides a great platform for us to communicate the importance of energy conservation,” said Katarina Tesarova, vice president of global sustainability for Las Vegas Sands. “This year we expanded the one hour event into a one week global campaign which encourages our more than 50,000 team members to celebrate their commitment to the planet with their friends, family, community or at work in their own way. We hope these actions will go beyond the Earth Hour week and become our way of living.”
Team Members will be challenged to perform sustainable acts to raise awareness on the importance of energy conservation. They can perform acts like using public transportation or carpooling to work, unplug electronics while not in use, wash their clothes in cold water and change an inefficient light bulb with an LED bulb.
