Las Vegas Sands Builds 200,000 Hygiene Kits for Clean the World

On Saturday, September 26, Las Vegas Sands and Clean the World came together for the largest global volunteer effort in both organizations’ history. LVS, through our corporate citizenship program Sands Cares, expanded on its partnership with Clean the World by completing an unprecedented 24-hour global effort to build 200,000 hygiene kits that will be distributed to populations in need worldwide.

Over 4,000 volunteers at our properties around the world participated in the Las Vegas Sands Global Hygiene Build with Clean the World. The build began in Singapore at 9am local time, where 900 Team Members from Marina Bay Sands built 45,000 hygiene kits before passing the baton to our team in Macao. From there, 1,500 volunteers at The Venetian Macao built 75,000 kits. After that, it was off to the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where 500 Team Member and community volunteers we’re up bright and early to build 25,000 hygiene kits. The build concluded in Las Vegas, where our volunteers at The Venetian were able to complete the final 55,000 kits to reach our global goal of 200,000.

“Today’s accomplishment illustrates the collective commitment of Las Vegas Sands and Clean the World to make our world healthier through sustainable solutions that address and solve social ills. A global build of this magnitude makes far-reaching impact, providing reclaimed hygiene supplies to people and places we normally can’t reach – a win for people and a win for the planet,” said Shawn Seipler, founder and CEO of Clean the World.

Thank you to all of our volunteers from around the world that helped make this event such a huge success!
