Las Vegas Sands Named one of the World’s Best Employers by Forbes

Las Vegas Sands has been recognized as one of the “World’s Best Employers” for 2019 by Forbes.

This honor started with our inclusion on the GLOBAL 2000, which includes the 2,000 largest public companies in the world. From there, Forbes and market research firm Statista independently surveyed more than 1.4 million employees working for companies across the globe. The results of those surveys led to our selection as one of the World’s Best Employers.

“It is extremely gratifying knowing our Team Members believe in our culture,” says Sheldon G. Adelson, our chairman and chief executive officer. “Our continued success depends on providing an exceptional work environment.”

Our Team Members are certainly dedicated to that mission, too, and feel their efforts are rewarded. Helen Tan, executive housekeeper at Marina Bay Sands, wasn’t surprised in the least to learn of Sands’ distinction: “I’ve been in the hospitality industry for 40 years,” she says, “and Sands really stands out. Mr. Adelson looks after our well-being, creating numerous opportunities for learning, investing in our development and even providing healthy meals in the Team Member dining rooms every day. Sands is just a great organization to work for!”

Lei Kin Chon, customer service associate director for Sands China Ltd., agrees: “The company takes great care of us. We have a remarkable benefits scheme, innovative career development opportunities and an overall positive work environment. My coworkers and leaders always make me feel respected and important to the company.”

Founded in 1989 with the purchase of the Sands Hotel, we are the world’s leading global developer of integrated resorts, serving both the business and leisure tourism markets. We pioneered the convention-based integrated resort model, which combines state-of-the-art meeting and convention facilities with luxury hotel rooms and suites, gaming, expansive retail offerings, celebrity-chef restaurants, live entertainment and a wide range of other attractions and offerings.

In order to offer such a luxurious leisure environment for our guests, we find it is just as important to offer our Team Members an excellent working environment, too. Brian White, Assistant Warehouse Manager at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, has been with the company for 20 years, and says the honor from Forbes is well deserved: “We have such great people, from our fellow coworkers up to the leadership level. And Mr. Adelson takes care of us all, and makes sure this is a great place to work. I’ve been here for 20 years, and I’ve never been disappointed to get up in the morning and go to work.”

Our Team Members are the reason our company is so successful, and we are deeply committed to providing them with a great working environment. So it truly is an honor to be named one of Forbes’ World’s Best Companies.
