Las Vegas Sands Partners with Clean the World Foundation for The Drop by Drop Project

This month, we launched a new water program with the global leader in WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) and sustainability Clean the World Foundation: The Drop by Drop Project. The Project will support water programs and nonprofit organizations focusing on four key areas:

  • Reinvigorating ecosystems by safeguarding and restoring aquatic ecosystems.
  • Leveraging technologies by promoting early-stage innovation and solutions scaling for water efficiency.
  • Increasing resiliency by strengthening community response to floods, droughts and other water-related risks.
  • Engaging the community by boosting awareness of water dependence issues.

“When Las Vegas Sands came to us with the idea for the Drop by Drop Project, we were thrilled to expand our long-standing partnership,” says Sam Stephens, Executive Director of Clean the World Foundation. “Many people don’t realize how important water is – for our communities and for our ecosystems – and we can’t wait to see the impact we make by supporting local organizations trying to make a difference.”

Through the Project, we will reinvest savings from our company water stewardship efforts into innovative programs supporting local communities in Las Vegas, Macao, and Singapore.

“The start of this project stems from our commitment to water stewardship, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and our long-standing partnership with Clean the World,” says Katarina Tesarova, vice president of global sustainability for Las Vegas Sands. “We are proud to expand our relationship with the Foundation to focus on new emerging water issues and look forward to positively impacting the communities and environments in these locations.”

From now until November 30, Clean the World Foundation is accepting applications for projects aiming to impact environments and communities in Las Vegas, Macao, and Singapore. Nonprofit organizations focusing on water ecosystems, technologies, resiliency and engagement are encouraged to apply.
