I had the privilege of attending this year’s Sands for Singapore Charity Festival at Marina Bay Sands. My time in Singapore provided a unique perspective of the Singaporean culture and it gave me an opportunity to interact with MBS team members and learn more about the issues they care about the most. I’m proud to announce that the 3rd annual Sands for Singapore Charity Festival was a huge success, raising over S$5.4 million that will directly support 80 local charities and over 300,000 Singaporeans. Over 3,200 Marina Bay Sands team members showed up in full force and volunteered for over 2,700 hours in the 29 fund-raising and community events over the course of the festival.
The iconic integrated resort was buzzing with activities from July 31 – August 9 as it did its part for the underprivileged while inspiring all Singaporeans to join in the efforts to give back. The charity festival featured an exciting lineup of activities including the inaugural Play It Forward charity race, first-ever Scoops of Hope gelato sale, and the Race to the Sky Vertical Marathon. Additionally, the annual Community Chest Heartstrings Walk, the festival’s flagship event, was designated as the first official activity of the nation’s Golden Jubilee weekend celebrating Singapore’s 50thanniversary. The walk had over 9,000 participants and raised over S$2 million.
It was a truly inspiring experience and I am honored to have gotten the opportunity to participate in such an amazing lineup of events. Thank you to all of our team members that helped make the festival such a success!
