Marina Bay Sands and the Sands ECO360° global sustainability program were recently featured in a post on the Energy Manager Today website. MBS was chosen for an energy-efficiency case study by Carbon War Room in conjunction with KPMG Climate Change & Sustainability Services. The result of that study has shown that MBS’s energy-efficiency projects have saved over 14 million kWh annually since 2012. The energy-efficiency projects included replacing light bulbs with LED lights, installing infrared occupancy sensors in a number of back-of-house departments and setting up the HVAC systems to automatically turn on one hour before an event and turn off one hour after an event. We are extremely proud of our team in Singapore for making a positive environmental impact on the way we manage our hotel operations on a large scale.
