Sands Cares Las Vegas Goes to the Ballpark for a Cause!

Through our Sands Cares program, nearly 1,000 Team Members of The VenetianThe Palazzo, and Sands Expo went out to the ballpark to root for the Las Vegas 51s at their season opener on Friday, April 17th to benefit HELP of Southern Nevada. HELP provides wrap around services for area homeless by providing access to a multitude of services. 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales went directly to the charity, inclusive of a company match to make a total donation of $10,000!

This specific donation will benefit the Shannon West Youth Home, which caters to assisting at risk youth by providing both residential and day programs for youth to learn the primary skills necessary to become successful adults. The center is for clients age 16-24 and can house a maximum number of 65. In 2016, the location will be moving out of downtown Las Vegas to a new, larger facility to be able to provide further assistance to this specific needy population.

Sands Cares also partnered with Miss Nevada and Miss America who collected in-kind donations inclusive of toiletries, food and other needed items that will be used at HELP’s outlets around the city.
