Sands Cares Partners with Quiet Storm Foundation to Support Underprivileged Youth

We recently announced a new partnership with the Quiet Storm Foundation that will result in a $10,000 commitment through our Sands Cares corporate citizenship program over the next two years. The Quiet Storm Foundation, founded by NBA star C.J. Watson, aims to provide a positive impact on underprivileged youth in the Las Vegas area.

Our commitment will result in 10 scholarships to be used for providing financial assistance for students seeking to pursue higher education. Our partnership will also include a mentorship program to assist in career exploration for the Quiet Storm Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC). Through the mentorship program, senior leaders from The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo will participate in YAC meetings, providing information and exposure to the hospitality industry. We will also provide a hiring workshop, giving YAC members the opportunity to work on interview skills, resume writing, and professional development.

“The Sands Cares partnership with the Quiet Storm Foundation is great for the youth of the program,” said Quiet Storm Foundation founder C.J Watson. “Our areas of focus include education, health and wellness, and leadership and the mentorship program of this partnership will enhance those focus areas, giving our youth a look into what it takes to be a leader in a major company and within the local community.”
