To mark the fifth anniversary of Sands Cotai Central, 50 Sands China Care Ambassadors invited 50 members of the Macao Special Olympics (MSO) to Paradise Gardens at the property to enjoy a carnival. MSO children and parents were able to enjoy activities like balloon twisting, caricature sketching, magic shows, face painting and more. The carnival featured MSO donation boxes to give the public a chance to donate to the organization and the boxes were also used for the carnival activities, with each activity costing a minimum donation of MOP 10 (US $1.25) to support the work of the Macao Special Olympics.
The Ambassadors took the MSO families to enjoy a complimentary meal at Po’s Kung Fu Feast, Character Breakfast with the DreamWorks All-Stars, an interactive, themed character breakfast featuring stage performances, part of the DreamWorks Experience at Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao. Sands China further celebrated with the community by giving out a total of 120 tickets to local medical organizations to see the Monkey King – China Show at the Sands Cotai Theatre. Tickets to the large-scale fantasy stage play were given to the Macau Dental Association, Pak Leng Medical and Rehabilitation Centre, Macau Physical Therapists Association, and Widex Macau Hearing and Speech Centre.
Since 2009, Sands China Ltd. has been organizing community activities for children throughout the year to provide them with fun and excitement, which aim to create joyful interactions between parents and children to help foster healthy and close-knit family relationships. The activities with MSO families is part of Sands China’s efforts to reach out to the local community and bring fun and warmth to underprivileged families. Occasions like Sands Cotai Central’s anniversary are opportunities for the company to celebrate its success with the wider community and to bring joy to members of local community groups.
The Sands China Care Ambassador program aims to give Sands China employees an opportunity to serve the local community by organizing community activities and initiatives that work toward creating a better Macao. With a current membership of more than 1,500 volunteers from across all Sands China properties, the Care Ambassadors have contributed more than 10,000 hours of community service in over 100 activities since the program was founded in 2009.
