Sands’ Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report focuses on key company progress indictors, including environmental and governance performance, along with improving the communities in which we do business.

We are committed to being a good corporate citizen, demonstrated through our efforts in making our regions better places to do business, work and live. More than world-class developers of iconic resorts, we are developers of positive impact, and we aspire to be valuable collaborators with the Team Members we employ, the guests we serve, the businesses we work with and the communities where we operate. We pursue this goal through a dual focus on People and Communities.

Our Team Members are at the heart of the exceptional service we provide to our guests, and of the responsible work we do in each of our home communities. Through the ESG Report, we demonstrate the real-world impact of our commitments. In 2019, we donated over 200,000 pounds of food globally, sponsored 115 community events and made $6.8 million in financial contributions to local charities. Through Sands Cares, our corporate giving and community engagement program, our Team Members contributed a total of 39,494 hours of volunteer service.

Our community support also included 174,000 pounds of food donated to relief organizations through The Venetian Resort, and support for Three Square Food Bank’s annual Bag Childhood Hunger drive. Meanwhile, Sands China Ltd. made its seventh annual trip to Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop, where volunteers distributed hundreds of meals to disadvantaged families for Chinese New Year. And all our regions come together for Sands’ annual disaster relief kit build event. In 2019, we collectively built and donated 100,000 kits.
