Las Vegas Sands recently donated $100,000 to five non-profit organizations in Las Vegas through the Sands Give-Back Bank, a new charitable giving initiative that enable LVS team members at The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo Center to determine where the company allocates a bank of charitable funds.
We felt it was important for our LVS team members to have a say in the types of charitable organizations that we support. As a result, between Aug. 1 and 10, we encouraged team members to cast their votes to allocate funds among five local non-profit organizations serving a range of Nevada residents in need, including those suffering from abuse, hunger and homelessness. The organizations were HELP of Southern Nevada, The Shade Tree, Street Teens, Three Square and U.S. Vets, Las Vegas. LVS made contributions to each of the charities based on the percentage of votes received, with each organization receiving a minimum of $14,000.
Sands Give-Back Bank is part of LVS’ global corporate citizenship program, Sands Cares. Launched in April of this year, Sands Cares encompasses the company’s corporate social responsibility priorities: supporting people in the company and the hospitality industry, making local communities where LVS operates a better place to live, and reducing environmental impact on the planet. Sands Give-Back Bank aims to support two of those core values – our people and our community.
Thank you to all of our team members who voted and participated in our Sands Give-Back Bank program!
