Las Vegas Sands Chairman & CEO Sheldon Adelson will be honored at the UNLV Foundation Annual Dinner on October 13th. The UNLV Foundation recognizes donors whose cumulative giving exceeds $1 million at their annual dinner and inducts them into the university’s Palladium Society. In April, Las Vegas Sands announced its five-year commitment of $7 million to UNLV through Sands Cares, the company’s global corporate citizenship program. The donation will go to the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration to develop a professional and executive program that will enable working professionals around the world to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary for advancing in the hospitality and gaming industry. Part of the donation will also go toward construction of a new hotel college academic building and a proposed Center for Professional and Leadership Studies.
Mr. Adelson has shown his commitment to UNLV in more ways than one. Back in May, he and COO Michael Leven spoke to UNLV students about careers in the hospitality sector. Both Mr. Adelson and Mr. Leven shared their experiences from their impressive careers while also addressing what it takes to operate properties in Las Vegas, Pennsylvania, Macao, and Singapore.
