Twenty-six lucky students from JD Smith Middle School got the chance to tour The Venetian Theatre and meet rock legends The Moody Blues. Sands Cares and AEG Live invited Communities in Schools (CIS) to take part in the opportunity for a Jobs In Music Day, where students could learn about the many different career paths in the music industry and were inspired to pursue their passions.

Students got to tour backstage of the theater, including the green room, music tuning room, and the theater itself. Team Members from The Venetian told the students about the wide variety of jobs related to concerts and entertainment that are available at the property.

After lunch, AEG staff discussed what goes into marketing, producing and promoting shows and concerts, while members of the crew talked about careers in sound, lighting and instrument tech. Then, members of the band came out and answered questions about their inspirations and how they began their careers in music. The Moody Blues had two more shows on Friday, October 14th and Saturday, October 15th, where CIS was on site collecting donations and raffling off a poster signed by lead guitarist Justin Hayward.
