At The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo, Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate culture and we work really hard to position ourselves as one of the leaders in green buildings and sustainability.
We are constantly evaluating and implementing innovative technologies and practices to reduce environmental impact and help create a sustainable future for ourselves and for future generations. Through our Sands ECO360 Sustainability program, we focus on areas like reducing our carbon emissions and water consumption and improving our recycling rate. We are always eager to combine our passion for protecting the environment and helping our community. We are also honored that our leadership role has inspired and enabled our meeting clients to adopt sustainable events management practices.
The Venetian embarked on a renovation of 3,000 guest rooms in 2014 and incorporated a number of sustainable design and construction practices. We are thrilled to receive 2015 Green Leader Awards from Las Vegas Business Press and Review Journal in two categories – “Large-scale Green Renovation” and “Best In Show”. The Venetian Remodel project involved installation of 100% LED lighting, energy-efficient minibars, televisions, copiers, and telephones; low flow showerheads and faucets in all guestrooms. In addition, Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) green building standards were followed for all product categories including lighting systems; heating, ventilation & air conditioning systems; electronics and appliances; plumbing fixtures; building materials; flooring systems and paints; coatings, adhesives and sealants.
“It’s extremely rewarding to see that our work is recognized and has earned the prestigious Green Leader Awards. This is a very big encouragement to our teams at The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo.” says Pranav Jampani, assistant director of sustainability.
